The federal government primary powers & responsibilities include production of currency, regulating interstate & foreign trade, foreign policy development/implementations, the ability to declare war, maintaining and creating the armed forces, and regulating taxes. The federal government also works with state and local government to establish and run federal welfare programs, build transit systems, and charter banks.
The Executive branch of the federal government includes the President, the Vide President and the cabinet. The President is elected every four years (Vice President is co-elected) and appoints the cabinet members. The executive branch powers include; signing & vetoing laws, appointing federal judges, pardons and foreign relations/negotiations.

The Congress is made up of the Senate, which includes 100 Senators (2 for each state) that are elected every 6 years and the House of Representatives witch includes 485 Representatives (amount per state varies) that are elected every 5 years. The Congress makes the laws, approves presidential appointees, can declare war, overseas taxes & public spending.

The Supreme Court is made up of nine justices, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Congress as spots become available. The justices serve a life-term and are responsible for examining laws for constitutional compliance. The court can also hear cases from lower level courts and overturn rulings. The current court includes; Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr, Associate Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, Chief Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson , and Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
