Our Executive Committee consist of our officers, such as the President, Secretarial pool and treasurers, members-at-large and all committee chairs. They oversee many of our branch events and funds.
Our PAC is one of our most active committees. They reguarlly attend state events, such as Moral Monday, in Raleigh. They also organize voter registration drives, advocate for voting rights, host and co-host events, and attend local Board of Election meetings.
Our Criminal Justice Committee stays busy. They communicate with local law enforcement about racial profiling and fight for justice for all people. They also stay informed about immigration reform and advocate for a fairer Alamance County.
In order to move forward together, we have to ban together. Our Peoples Assembly/HKonJ Committee works hard to partner with local social justice organizations in our community. We have amazing coalition partners at the ANAACP and enjoy co-hosting and showing our support for their events.
Our Education Committee works hard in Alamance County to advocate for a fairer public school system. By attending local school board and governing meetings they voice their concern for redistricting and budget efforts.
Our legal redress committee reviews local cases for discriminatory practices and assist when possible.
This committee organizes our Freedom Fund Banquet. This is our annual fundraiser and how we honor those who have shown great support for us.
With help from our coalition partners, we host a meal for our fellow community members on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the month.
Our newly formed communications committee handles our website, social media, press relations, and much more.
Our membership committee organizes our quarterly membership drives, promotes the branch and seeks out members to join us in our fight for justice
Didn't see a committee that fit your interest? We have plans to add more in 2017 and are always open to new ideas and more ways to get involved!
We have multiple canvasses and voter registration events this summer and we need all the help we can get! If you are interested please message email@example.com.
All voter registration done by the NAACP is non-partisan and training is not affiliated with the Board of Elections.
The Economic Development Committee of the NAACP, along with our partners, host a community meal every 2nd, 4th & 5th Sunday of the month at the Bynum Center, 331 E. Morehead St. in Burlington. All volunteers are welcome and we ask you arrive by 2:30pm for training.
